Palm Springs is the Ultimate Girls Trip

Girls trip in Palm Springs

Pack your favorite sunnies and grab your best girls then head to Palm Springs for the ultimate vacay. Mod Mansions has the perfect luxury home base for you and your besties to chill when you aren't busy dining, shopping, or exploring.

Once you've settled in to your fabulous new home-away-from-home, head to On the Mark to pick up high-end provisions— think artisan cheeses, nitrate-free meats, wine and craft beer. You'll need snacks and rosé when you're lounging poolside, reliving yesterday's adventures and planning tomorrow's.

If, while unpacking your suitcase you feel at a loss, there are plenty of boutiques specializing in the Palm Springs look where you're sure to find something to wear. Besides, what's a girls' trip without a little shopping? Browse the racks at the Frippery or Ricochet Vintage Wears, then take your finds home to get ready for a night on the town.

Hit up Bootlegger Tiki in Old Las Palmas for happy hour. Creative cocktails, along with the classics, are crafted with love and house made ingredients, and the atmosphere will set the tone for a fun night. Get a few different flavors of popcorn for everyone to sample as they sip.

If Palm Springs brings to mind mid century glamour, make dinner reservations at Mr. Lyons Steakhouse. The menu is updated classic, much like the decor, featuring French onion soup, crispy pork belly, grass fed filet, and beef Wellington. If you prefer modern (minus the "mid"), check out James Beard award-winning Workshop Kitchen and Bar. The sleek industrial-modern interior provides the ideal backdrop for perfectly composed small plates. When dinner makes you wish for more, come back for brunch on Sunday.

For late night entertainment, check out the rooftop bar Moxie on Thursday, Friday or Saturday for a party on the dance floor, or head back to the Bootlegger for the night shift. You'll find plenty of spots downtown for bar-hopping, if you want to keep it moving.

Whether you danced 'til dawn or hung around the pool in your pjs, come morning you'll likely want to caffeinate. Make your morning coffee run to Palm Springs original Koffi. They roast their own beans, so it doesn't get any fresher.

To fill your day, Moorten Botanical Garden is a must—the garden and "Cactarium" is home to more than 3,000 species of desert plants. The sculptural cacti will provide more photo ops than you can snap, so make sure you and your buds are camera ready. If you prefer something a bit more refined, gallery hop for a taste of Palm Springs' active arts community.

For the full desert experience, there are a multitude of hiking trails in Greater Palm Springs, at every level of difficulty. If a low-key hike with a pay-off sounds good to your group, take the guided hike through Tahquitz Canyon to a 60-ft. waterfall on the Agua Caliente Reservation. What more could you ask for than natural beauty in good company?

Once you've gotten some exercise, you'll need to pamper yourself before heading back out into the world. Should you try the mud bath and angel reading at Two Bunch Palms, or Sandalwood Wrap at Spring Resort and Day Spa? Maybe you would prefer to visit the Salt Cave at Venus de Fido. Of course if a classic massage is more your speed, those are readily available, too.

Of course, you wouldn't be wrong to spend your days in one of our stylish and cozy vacation rentals, surrounded by friends. You're sure to make memories and strengthen bonds, in one of the most beautiful settings on Earth. Do a little or a lot, the choice is yours you can't go wrong.
